About Ava
Where Passion Meets Purpose
From the time I was a kid, I’ve always found myself drawn to creativity. Whether I was dancing, writing poetry, or sketching in the margins of my notebooks, I loved the way art could take emotions and turn them into something real, something others could feel. But the moment that truly changed everything for me came in the summer of 2019 when I attended an art camp at Winged Canvas Arts School. That was when I first felt the spark, like I’d found something I was meant to do.
Art quickly became more than just a passion. It became my way of making sense of the world, sharing my voice, and connecting with others in ways words often couldn’t. Each piece I create carries a little part of me, whether it’s a story, an emotion, or just a moment I want to hold on to. I’ve learned that art isn’t just about expressing yourself. It’s about inspiring others, creating connection, and finding meaning in the moments that matter most.
Turning Challenges Into Change
Growing up, I often felt like I didn’t quite fit. Whether it was being a Black girl in mostly non-Black spaces, a young woman in a male-dominated sport like taekwondo, or just a shy teenager hoping to be seen, those moments of invisibility stuck with me. They also shaped me. They taught me to look deeper, to listen harder, and to notice the stories that often go untold.
Now, that’s what drives me. I create art because I believe everyone deserves to feel seen. I want my work to remind people, especially those who’ve ever felt overlooked, that their stories, their voices, and their dreams matter. Art, for me, is about more than creating something beautiful. It’s about breaking down barriers, building bridges, and showing what’s possible when we celebrate diversity and creativity.
A Journey Worth Supporting
I still remember the moment I realized art could be something bigger than just a hobby. I was in eighth grade, pouring every ounce of myself into my work, staying up late sketching out ideas too big to keep bottled up. It wasn’t easy, but it felt like I was finally starting to figure out who I was and how I wanted to show up in the world.
Over the years, I’ve thrown myself into learning, experimenting, and growing as an artist. I’ve explored different styles, honed my skills, and found my voice. But more than that, I’ve found my purpose: to create for those who feel unseen, to celebrate the beauty of our differences, and to remind the world that art has the power to connect us all.
When you support my work, you’re not just collecting a piece of art. You’re becoming part of a movement to champion creativity, inclusivity, and resilience. Together, we can build something extraordinary, one brushstroke at a time.
The Brush That Sparks a Movement
“I’m committed to being part of a creative movement where art becomes a guide, a way to lead people to a place of strength, to celebrate their victories, and to express their beauty and colorful experiences. Each stroke of my brush is an invitation to look deeper, to connect more fully, and to see what’s possible when we embrace creativity. This isn’t just art. It’s a beacon for anyone ready to explore their story and discover the power of imagination.”
